Find friends online
Even if you do not find it hard to make friends at school or in the workplace, it can be frustrating sometimes when you want to get out of the house for a few hours just to hang around drinking coffee and chatting with mates and all the people you know are tied up or not interested. Others may find it hard to make friends either because they lack confidence in social situations or simply because their lifestyle is not conducive to meeting people – perhaps because they are working or studying from home for example. Whatever the reasons, it can be frustrating but fortunately the internet has made to easier to find someone, whether you are looking for a date with a member of the opposite sex or just a friend to kick a ball around with after school. There are many networking sites that are aimed at a particular service such as online dating ones and also some very large sites where most of the activity seems to be based around internet games and other impersonal types of interaction. FindMeClub is a unique kind of site where the emphasis is on making real connections with people who share similar interests, and meeting them for a variety of activities. If you are looking to find partner oriented people or just someone to study with, you have come to the right place. Registration is a simple process and you can soon be interacting with people from many different walks of life.
Creating a profile
The process of entering your personal details that you wish to share on the site is a simple one, but that doesn’t mean that it should be done without any thought at all. The more information that you can give about yourself, the more likely it is that you will be able to find people that you can really connect with on a personal level. Apart from the fact that profiles with very little in them are inherently less interesting to read, the more others know about you, whether they are looking to find mate material or just friends, the easier it will be for them to identify with the type of person that you really are. There are some things that you may not wish to share on a public website and this is understandable, but there are plenty of details that you may think are unimportant but that can give other users important clues as to whether or not you are the sort of person that they would find it easy to get on with. Pictures are of course a great help if you are looking for something more than friendship, and even if you are only looking to find a friend online, it is always nice to see what others look like, to help us build a picture up of them in our minds. The type of books that you enjoy reading, your favourite films and what sort of music you listen to are all of interest.
Searching for people
You will see near the top of our home page that there is a group of list boxes – these are to help you in making the right connections and finding people who are interested in the same type of activities as you are. There are various additional criteria that you can search on, such as whether you are looking for male or female friends and the distance from your own location that you are happy to travel to meet new friends. When choosing this distance you can of course take into account the fact that potential friends may well be prepared to travel as well, and so if you are happy with driving 35 miles to meet someone and they are too, you can in fact extend your search to anyone living within 70 miles of your home. If you input your postcode the location box will automatically be populated with the nearest postal town to that. There are a number of activities that you can choose from in order to narrow your search down to like minded people who are looking to do similar things to those you are interested in. Social friends online can be for more than just going out and doing things together with of course, and you may find that there are some people that, although you enjoy doing different things in your spare time, you may well still enjoy interacting with them via the website. There are lots of reasons that people join up.
Starting a blog
Another thing that you can do on our site is to start your own blog. If you are not aware of what these are for, they are a sort of online diary where you can record what you have been up to recently and share your thoughts on different subjects. Anyone interested can then follow your blog as you update it regularly. Online friends find this can be a convenient way to keep in touch with a number of different people, while allowing for the possibility that someone new may stumble across your blog and like what they read. If you are not sure what to write in a blog then you can have a read through other members’ postings first or perhaps have a search on the internet and see what you find. People often start them when they set off on their travels, to keep a journal of what they get up to, so that friends and family can easily stay up to date with where they are and what they are doing. You can also find new friends by taking the time yourself to make comments on other people’s blogs that interest you. Apart from the comings and goings in your daily life, you can write about pretty much anything that takes your fancy in your own blog. There are often things that are happening in the wider world that we feel strongly about and a blog is somewhere that you can express yourself on any subject.
Using forums
In addition to recording your thoughts on a blog, if you fancy entering into more free ranging discussions with other members then you are free to participate in any of the threads that appear in the forums. You can make friends with lots of new people in this way as more and more people join in the discussion and get to know those who share similar opinions to themselves. To help you locate the threads that you are most likely to be interested in, the forums are arranged in various categories such as relationships and sports. If you start a new thread then it is much easier for all if you place it in the most relevant category. That way you will not only save someone the job of moving it, but you will immediately generate more replies as it will be easier for others to find. You will often find someone else who feels as passionately about a subject as you do by participating in the forums, and even if you live at opposite ends of the country it is still nice to keep in touch with such people. As the site attracts more and more members, these areas will of course get busier and more interesting. It may be necessary further down the line to create more categories as it becomes clearer what the most popular subjects are that people like to discuss. There is an uncategorised section if you are not sure where your thread should go.
Keeping track of everything
You might think that what with blogs, forums, profiles, looking to find partner possibilities and more, that it could be hard to keep track of what is going on. With this in mind, the site is designed to make it easy to keep tabs on the things that interest you most. Once you have created your profile you will see that at the top of the page there are various links, all of which will most likely have a zero next to them to start with. These are for things like unread messages that you may have received from other members and pending requests that they may also have sent you. Some people looking to find mate members or perhaps a group of people to get together regularly for some activity, may invite you to be a buddy. Once you accept an invitation or someone else accepts yours, their member name will appear in the “my club members” section of your profile so that you can quickly find them again. You will also see a link entitled planner, among others, at the top of your profile page. You can use this to make new entries for events such as going for coffee, or a shopping expedition. You can then invite other members to the event, making it easier to set group social meetings up. If you are looking to find a partner online then it is obviously a better idea to send them a private message, although you never know!
